I’m thrilled to be back from my incredible 10-day vacation to the United States, and I am excited to share all the exciting details with you. This journey was extra special because it was the first time I got to meet my best friend, Geo, in person. After three years of chatting online through Twitch and Discord, our friendship had reached new heights, and this vacation was a dream come true. So, let’s dive into the memorable moments of my unforgettable adventure.

On Friday, September 15, I flew with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines from Amsterdam to New York. The flight was about eight hours long and it went by fast and smoothly. As soon as I landed at John F. Kennedy Airport there was an overwhelming sense of excitement and anticipation. The excitement was through the roof as Geo and I hugged it out at the airport. It’s amazing how online connections can turn into genuine, lasting friendships.

The following Saturday, September 16, was just a chill day. Geo introduced me to his parents and then Geo and his mom took me out to dinner at an amazing Italian restaurant called Maggiano’s, at the Bergen Town Center, which is a shopping center in Paramus, New Jersey. Dinner was absolutely amazing and their Italian Sangria was delicious. I may have drank a little too much, because at some point I was starting to slur. It was quite jarring.

On Sunday, September 17, our first adventure together took us to Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, where we experienced heart-pounding roller coasters, thrilling rides, and endless laughter. The adrenaline rush and the joy of sharing those moments with Geo made this day unforgettable. The weather was nice and sunny and I think we went on at least ten rollercoasters. My absolute favorite one has to be Kingda Ka! What a rush and thrill! It’s the highest rollercoaster in the United States.

After a long day of walking around and riding rollercoasters we decided to have a chill day on Monday, September 18. We had a late breakfast at the Gotham City Diner in Fair Lawn. And I devoured a stack of some delicious American pancakes! Later that day we went to see a movie at AMC, A Haunting in Venice. And I am very ashamed to say that I fell asleep during it and missed most of the movie. I blame the spacious reclining seats!

On Tuesday, September 19, Geo and I decided to add a touch of luxury to our trip by visiting Atlantic City. We stayed at the beautiful Oceans Resort, enjoying stunning ocean views and a relaxing atmosphere. It was a perfect break from the excitement of the theme park and a great opportunity to catch up. The view from our room was breathtaking, and the vibrant atmosphere of the city added to the excitement. We strolled along the famous Atlantic City Boardwalk and tried our luck at the casinos.

The following day in Atlantic City we did some shopping at Calvin Klein and we had lunch at Applebee’s. Gotta love some Nachos!

One whole day in the city that never sleeps – New York City! No East Coast trip would be complete without a visit to the iconic city. On Thursday, September 21, Geo and I took in the bustling atmosphere and made memories that will last a lifetime. We went to Times Square, The 9/11 Memorial on Ground Zero, The apartment from Friends, The New York Public Library and many strolls through the streets of the city. We did so much walking my legs are still feeling achy today.

On Friday, September 22, Geo and I went to Liberty State Park in New Jersey and it was a truly inspiring experience. The park’s proximity to the iconic Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island made it a poignant reminder of America’s history and the immigrant experience. Strolling along the waterfront promenade, I was captivated by breathtaking views of Lady Liberty herself. The park’s serene atmosphere, well-maintained gardens, and historical monuments provided a perfect backdrop for reflection and appreciation of our nation’s heritage. It’s a must-visit destination for anyone exploring New Jersey, offering both natural beauty and a profound connection to America’s past.

After our visit at Liberty State Park we went to the American Dream Mall and walked around, doing some shopping as well.

During my stay, I had the pleasure of meeting Geo’s wonderful family, including his parents, sister, and adorable nephew. They welcomed me with open arms, and it was heartwarming it made the trip even more special.

I must confess; the food in the United States is irresistible! From mouthwatering burgers to decadent desserts, I indulged in delicious treats during my vacation. Now that I’m back, I definitely need to go on a diet, but every calorie was worth it.

The last three days of my vacation we had non-stop rain, so we didn’t do a whole lot, except for hanging around at malls and stuff. Then it was time to go back home again and saying goodbye to Geo. I hate saying goodbyes. But all good things come to an end. I flew back home on Monday, September 25. The flight back from JFK Airport to Amsterdam with Delta Airlines was horrible. It was a night flight and I was unable to catch some sleep. But I arrived back safe and sound.

My 10-day vacation to the United States, spent with Geo, was an absolute blast. From thrilling adventures at Six Flags Great Adventure to the serenity of Atlantic City and the vibrant streets of New York City, every moment was unforgettable. Meeting Geo’s family and savoring American cuisine made the trip even more special. While my waistline may suffer a bit, the memories and the bond I shared with Geo are worth every extra pound. It was a vacation filled with laughter, love, and incredible experiences – one that I will cherish forever.

A big thank you for Geo for having me and for showing me around. I had the best time. Thanks for all the fun and laughs. I can’t wait to see you again. I miss you like crazy and being in your presence! Until the next adventure!
